It was supposed to be a clash between two Indian stars — Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravichandran Ashwin — albeit on foreign shores. In the English County championships on Tuesday, Nottinghamshire was struggling at 188-9 in a rain-marred first day against Worcestershire.

It was also a day of disappointment for the Indian players as Pujara could chip in with only 28 runs for Nottinghamshire, while Ashwin, playing for Worcestershire, didn’t even get a chance to bowl. For his side, Edward Barnard picked up 4-66 to rattle the Nottinghamshire batsmen. What is being touted as the top of the table clash turned out to be quite a one-sided affair for Worcestershire, thanks to Barnard's four-wicket haul.
