Railways was in a commanding position at 87 for three at stumps, aided by a fluent knock of 47 from Mrunal Devdhar.
Railways utilised the 'lively' conditions well to rattle its opponents. Even though the conditions kept improving with the brightening sun, only Malolan Rangarajan provided some resistance in the middle with an unbeaten 36 off 50 balls.
The team could still have gained ground but for dropping Mrunal with the score at 47 for two, when Railways shaped up for the challenge. Of course,Tamil Nadu had done well to effect a brilliant run out through K. Vignesh to make the breakthrough and Vignesh later sent Shivakant Shukla’s off stump flying to further inspire the team.
