Wicket-keeper batsman Aditya Tare has lost his place while Shreyas Iyer has been rested for Mumbai’s concluding Ranji Trophy fixture of the season, to be played against Chhattisgarh at the Wankhede Stadium from Monday.

The selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar has recalled seasoned pacer Dhawal Kulkarni besides handing a maiden call-up to promising batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal.

After being replaced as captain at the start of the season, Tare has tallied 370 runs from 14 innings this season.

Though he was shuffled in the batting order, Tare’s performance was far from convincing for the selectors. As a result, he joined Suryakumar Yadav in the list of prolific omissions during the ongoing season.

Iyer, meanwhile, is understood to have been seeking rest ever since he joined the squad ahead of the match against Baroda last month.

With Mumbai out of reckoning for a place in knock-outs, the selectors have adhered to Iyer’s wish and given him a break.

The squad:

Mumbai: Siddhesh Lad (Capt.), Jay Bista, Vikrant Auti, Shubham Ranjane, Eknath Kerkar (w.k.), Shivam Dube, Shardul Thakur, Dhawal Kulkarni, Tanush Kotian, Tushar Deshpande, Royston Dias, Karsh Kothari, Dhrumil Matkar, Minad Manjrekar, Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Out: Tare, Iyer
