Rashid Khan bereaved, will play Monday's BBL match

Rashid Khan's father passed away in his hometown late on Sunday evening but the player will play Monday's match against Sydney in his father's honour.

Rashid Khan's father expired on Sunday but the ace leg-spinner will be playing in the BBL match on Monday, in the honour of his late father.

Young Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan's father passed away in his hometown late on Sunday evening.

The ace spinner took to Twitter to post a heart-breaking message on his personal loss.

"Today I lost the most important person in my life,father-the everlasting candle.Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Now I know why u always asked me to be strong,bcz u knew that today I would need the strength to bear your loss.Will be always in my miss u #plztalktomeOnce," Rashid posted, on Twitter.

 

Rashid is currently in Australia playing for Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League.

However, on Monday, the Adelaide Strikers issued a statement that Rashid will play in Monday's match against the Sydney Thunder at Adelaide Oval in honour of his late father.

"Rashid's father passed away last night and Rashid has decided that he will stay in Adelaide and play tonight.

The Strikers give their condolences and full support to Rashid and his family during this difficult time.   The family have asked that their privacy is respected," the franchisee said in a statement.
