Shah Rukh Khan's team to be a part of South African T20 league

Bollywood star Khan already owns Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and Trinbago Knight Riders in the Carribean Premier League.

Shah Rukh Khan-owned Cape Town Knight Riders will be one of the eight teams in the T20 Global League.

Shah Rukh Khan-owned Cape Town Knight Riders will be part of Cricket South Africa's (CSA) new T20 league — T20 Global League. 

CSA, on Monday, announced the owners, cities and marquee players for the eight teams that will participate in the inaugural league.

Bollywood star Khan already owns Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and Trinbago Knight Riders in the Carribean Premier League (in West Indies).

"On behalf of all of us at Knight Riders, congratulations to Cricket South Africa for the launch of this exciting new T20 Global League," said Khan, in a video message, at the launch. "We look forward to being a part of this exciting new journey and building something special."

GMR Group, the promoters of the Delhi Daredevils, will own the Johnnesburg team.

“The announcement of the team owners is a key milestone to successfully launch our T20 Global League,” CSA chief executive Haroon Lorgat told CSA's website. “We are thrilled by the international mix of owners and the passion and excitement that was clearly demonstrated during the bidding process by them and the marquee players. It sets up our T20GL as a fans favourite in the cricketing calendar.”
