Shubman Gill, on Thursday, became the youngest batsman to score a first-class double hundred when he struck a 257-ball 204 in an unofficial Test for India A in Trinidad.

The 19-year-old hit 19 fours and two sixes during his unbeaten innings as India A piled misery on the West Indies A bowlers.

Gill will lead India Blue in the upcoming Duleep Trophy which gets underway in Bengaluru from August 17 to September 8.

The Under-19 World Cup winning cricketer was expecting an India recall after a stellar show in the ‘A’ series and even though he was disappointed by the snub for the West Indies tour, the youngster is not ready to “spend time thinking over it.”

Earlier, celebrated coach  Dav Whatmore had said that Gill could solve the No.4 issue that has been haunting the Indian team for a while now.
