Team India's fitness coach Shankar Basu resigns

Shankar Basu joined the Indian team ahead of the Sri Lankan tour in 2015 and is credited for transforming Virat Kohli into a top-notch athlete.

Team India's fitness coach Shankar Basu has handed his resignation to the BCCI. Basu, who also works with the Indian Premier League side Royal Challengers Bangalore, had made his decision after the fifth Test against England.

According to reports, the BCCI has requested him to reconsider the decision.

Basu joined the Indian team ahead of the Sri Lankan tour in 2015 and is credited for transforming Virat Kohli into a top-notch athlete.

If Basu's resignation is accepted, Sudarshan — who is now with the National Cricket Academy — will takeover the position.
