Triumphant Indian U-19 team flooded by wishes

PM Narendra Modi and Sachin Tendulkar led the cheering contingent after the Indian colts won the ICC U-19 World Cup.

India's stunning run in the ICC U-19 World Cup culminated in an authoritative eight-wicket win over Australia in the final for a record fourth title. As always, the Twitterati celebrated in full vigour with sportspersons and celebrities from all walks of life joining in to wish the Rahul Dravid-coached side for the feat.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan clearly was more happy about the Aussies getting a thrashing than Indians winning the title.

Later in the day, former Indian World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev, who was in Hyderabad to inaugurate the Telangana T20 cricket league, said: "A new generation (of cricketers) has arrived which is going to play for India tomorrow. They have made us proud. I was watching the match throughout the day. What wonderful cricket they played."
