Twitterati pays tribute to Ajit Wadekar
Former cricketers and administrators took to Twitter to pay their tributes to former India captain Ajit Wadekar who passed away in Mumbai on Wednesday night.

Former Indian cricketer Ajit Wadekar, who guided India to its historic Test series victories in West Indies and England in 1971. Wadekar also served as India's manager in the '90s during Mohammed Azharuddin's tenure and then went on to become the chairman of the selectors.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of Wadekar, saying he led the Indian team to some of the most memorable wins.
He said Wadekar would be remembered for his rich contribution to Indian cricket.
“A great batsman & wonderful captain, he led our team to some of the most memorable victories in our cricketing history. He was also respected as an effective cricket administrator. Pained by his demise,” Mr. Modi tweeted.
"Sad to hear about the demise of Ajit Wadekar. One of the most popular India captains who led India to the twin series wins in 1971. He also serves India as coach and chairman of the selection committee. Ajit Served MCA as the Vice President for eight long years. May his soul rest in peace,"former BCCI President Sharad Pawar said.
"Deeply saddened by the passing away of #AjitWadekar He was more than a coach to the entire team - a father figure and a shrewd tactician. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. He will be missed. Thank you Sir for the confidence shown in my ability!," Anil Kumble wrote in his Twitter handle.
