David Warner lauded Australia for "playing fearlessly" following Saturday's seven-wicket Twenty20 victory over England.

Australia reached the final of the tri-nations series with a third win from as many matches, Glenn Maxwell again top scoring for his side with 39.

D'Arcy Short also impressed in compiling his 36 not out as Australia easily chased down England's 137-7.

A delighted Warner, serving as captain for the match, said: "The guys from the Big Bash have been in tremendous form and are playing fearlessly.

"The pitch had a bit in it if you hit that good length and then our batsmen finished it off clinically

"I give the bowlers the responsibility of setting their own fields and bowling to it and they've delivered.

"D'Arcy Short is a fantastic player and he showed he's got a different gear, playing that anchor role.

"I love going over to New Zealand and we're looking forward to that challenge."
