West Indies has dropped Kraigg Brathwaite for their one-day international series against Pakistan, while his IPL-bound namesake Carlos is also absent.

Opening batsman Kraigg played in all three matches against England last month but averages just 27.8 at a strike-rate of 57.55 from his 10 ODI outings.

All-rounder Carlos, meanwhile, who captained the side in its 3-1 T20 series loss to Pakistan, is unavailable for selection as he flies to India to join up with the Delhi Daredevils.

The Windies has named a 13-man squad for the first two games of the three-match series, the entirety of which will be played in Guyana beginning on Friday.

Wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton returns and could make a first ODI appearance since 2014, while fast bowler Shannon Gabriel is selected after sustaining a side injury against England.

The series could have huge ramifications on automatic qualification for the 2019 World Cup - Pakistan is currently eighth in the rankings, five points and a place above West Indies, which would be facing the prospect of having to come through a qualifier if its position does not improve ahead of the September cut-off.

West Indies squad:  Jason Holder (captain), Devendra Bishoo, Jonathan Carter, Miguel Cummins, Shannon Gabriel, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Jason Mohammed, Ashley Nurse, Kieran Powell, Rovman Powell, Chadwick Walton.
