Australia A completed a 3-0 rout of India A with a five-wicket win in the third and final one-dayer at the Bandra-Kurla Complex here on Friday.
Australia A rode on opener Georgia Redmayne’s 123-ball 98 to reach its target of 255 in the 45th over. The left-handed batswoman missed a century, but she had made sure her side was nearly home by the time she departed, in the 42nd over.
Redmayne struck 10 fours during her entertaining knock. Tahil McGrath, who played a knock of 62, and wicketkeeper Josephine Dooley, who chipped in with 67, played valuable supporting roles.
Raut shines
India’s 50-over score of 254 for eight was engineered largely via a knock of 98 from captain Punam Raut. Besides Mona Meshram, who scored 57, and wicketkeeper Sushma Verma, who scored 40, none of the others provided much support to Raut.
Raut, a seasoned campaigner, decorated her innings with 16 boundaries. But with the middle-order failing to show steel, she was running out of stickable partners at the other end. For Australia A, legspinner Amanda Jade Wellington claimed 3 for 59.
- India A 254 for 8 in 50 overs (Punam Raut 98, Mona Meshram 57, Amanda Jade Wellington 3 for 59) lost to Australia A 257 for 5 in 44.3 overs (Georgia Redmayne 98, Josephine Dooley 67, Tanushree Sarkar 2 for 30).
