WI 159/9 in 38 overs: Gayakwad comes in now and gives off just one run in the over. The Indians won't care much about the runs. They'll want to wrap this up as soon as possible. That's priority. For the Net Run Rate too.
WI 157/9 in 37 overs: Outstanding piece of fielding from Deepti Sharma removes Chedean Nation as her resistance in the middle ends thanks to a run out. WI 155/8 in 36 overs: WICKET MAIDEN AND JHULAN GOSWAMI IS THE HIGHEST WICKET-TAKER IN WOMEN'S ODI WORLD CUPS. What a warhorse she has been for India. There's something very poetic about Anisa Mohammed being that wicket for her. It's funny how she is the player who has probably had an off day in the Indian side. I can understand them persisting with her. There's a record in the offing. WI 155/7 in 33 overs: Deepti returns. Spinners are getting a fair bit of turn and she allows the Windies only two runs in this over. WI 153/7 in 32 overs: Jhulan returns, hunting for that wicket that will take her to the top of the wicket takers' tally. However she has given seven runs away. Good over relatively for the Windies but we're delaying the inevitable. WI 146/7 in 31 overs: One run from this Deepti Sharma over. Runs have dried up for Windies here but that maiden streak at least ends.
WI 145/7 in 30 overs: One more maiden but this doesn't pass without action. Anisa Mohammed gets a thick edge which just falls short of slip. Would have been one more wicket if someone got their hands to it. WI 145/7 in 29 overs: Another maiden. This time for Deepti Sharma WI 145/7 in 28 overs: Maiden over from Gayakwad as she makes things very hard for new batter Anisa Mohammed. Insane amount of turn here for Gayakwad but Mohammed is safe none of that is touching her bat. WI 145/7 IN 27 overs: Nation is rotating strike and taking this game as long as she can but she is losing partners and there falls Alleyne. WI 140/6 in 26 overs: Maiden for Gayakwad. Keeps the batters guessing with a good mix of tossing it up and keeping it flat through the air.
WI 140/6 in 25 overs: Nation drives through covers for two after five dot balls. Rana keeps a tight outside off line that with two slips in place to keep the batters quiet.
WI 138/6 in 24 overs: Gayakwad to bowl her fifth. Turn straightaway, beating Henry's attempted flick on the leg side. The ball darted onto her helmet after deflecting off her pads. Loud LBW shout and given! Review confirms impact was umpire's call and ball was just hitting off stump so the decision stands. India gets another one. It pitched just on off stump and went straight with the arm to thud into her front pad. FOUR! Thick outside edge and Alleyne collects four at third man.
WI 134/5 in 23 overs: OUT! Vastrakar comes back and strikes. Campbelle slices a fuller one outside off straight to Gayakwad at point and another one bites the dust. FOUR! New batter Henry serenely drives this full one through extra cover for a boundary. Single to end the over and she will keep strike.
WI 126/4 in 22 overs: A mistimed slash outside off from Nation and it is in the air for a while but too wide of point; a single at third. Sharp movement away for Meghna and she beats Campbelle's outside edge. She gets two with a flick behind square leg. Meghna beats Campbelle outside off on two consecutive deliveries with some more away movement.
WI 123/4 in 21 overs: Rana to bowl her fifth. A couple of singles for Nation and one for Campbelle.
WI 120/4 in 20 overs: Meghna continues. FOUR! Campbelle drives down the ground for four runs to end the over. A good over until then with just two runs coming.
WI 114/4 in 19 overs: Campbelle to face Rana. She collects a single behind square leg. OUT! Matthews departs and Rana gets the big fish! Turning away from her, extra bounce and it goes off the shoulder of the bat and take a sharp take by Richa behind the stumps. Chedean Nation the new batter in. Beaten again outside off playing off the backfoot. India has really put the skids on Windies here.
WI 113/3 in 18 overs: OUT! Taylor edges behind to Richa and Meghna gets two. It moved away from her in the air and Taylor poked at it outside off and got an edge to carry to the 'keeper.
WI 111/2 in 17 overs: Just two runs and India is doing well to put the pressure back on the Windies with these tidy overs. Rana turned one sharply into Taylor from a length and then revved in a wide yorker that beat her.
WI 109/2 in 16 overs: Meghna Singh to put some pace back onto the ball. OUT! Knight holes out to fine leg. Short of length and Knight ended up dragging it behind and straight to fine leg. Skipper Taylor comes to the crease. On the pads, Taylor misses the flick and one leg-bye given. Yorker to finish and another good over for India.
WI 107/2 in 15 overs: Rana continues. Tidy maiden over. She tossed up the ball to Knight, who was unable to find the gap on the off side. She seemed a little hurried in wanting to get off strike but Matthews sent her back. These are the overs that will build pressure on the West Indies.
WI 107/2 in 14 overs: Gayakwad is back with the ball. Just a couple of runs from the over for a change.
WI 105/1 in 13 overs: A small break here in play as Dottin is receiving medical attention in the middle. Sneh Rana will now bowl. OUT! Dottin perishes. She got a top-edge trying to sweep and a sitter for the short fine leg fielder. FOUR! A bit of width outside off and Knight frees her arms and guides it through the gap in the off side field.
WI 100/0 in 12 overs: Vastrakar is into the attack. Back of length and Dottin gets a thick bottom edge trying to pull. FOUR! Short and wide and Dottin slashes between cover and point for a boundary. Two more with for Dottin with a gentle flick to mid wicket. FOUR! Boundary on the last ball. Length delivery just outside off and Matthews positions herself perfectly to punched it through covers off the backfoot. Hundred up for WI in 12 overs.
WI 87/0 in 11 overs: FOUR! Wayward down leg and Dottin whips it behind to the fine leg boundary. This one is lofted over cover for one. Dot to finish.
WI 81/0 in 10 overs: Dottin brings up her fifty in 35 balls with a six over long on off Deepti Sharma. Earlier in the over she had smashed one over her head and to the straight boundary for for runs.
WI 70/0 in 9 overs: FOUR! Gaywakwad pitched it too far up and Matthews strides forward and drive it square for another one. Dottin goes aerial, trying to clear the inner cirlce on off and doesn't time it. It lobs up and spirals down just outside the circle.
WI 63/0 in 8 overs: FOUR! Dottin comes down the track to Deepti and lifts it over mid off and another boundary. Two singles more from the over.
WI 57/0 in 7 overs: The physio is out to attend to Dottin. She seems okay to continue. Rajeshari Gayakwad with the ball. Leading edge and safe! It popped up after flying off Dottin's edge but wide of slip. Dropped! Matthews went back to pull this and reserve fielder Taniya Bhatia dived to her right but couldn't hold on. Very hard chance though.
WI 54/0 in 6 overs: Change in bowling and Deepti Sharma is into the attack. Four runs from the over as Deepti varies her pace effectively. Dottin collects three with a lap shot to fine leg.
WI 50/0 in 5 overs: FOUR! Another one from Goswami that is veering down leg side and Matthews tucks it behind square for a boundary. FOUR! Too full this time and Matthews carves this one behind point for four more. West Indies responding in style to India's challenge. Game on! FOUR! Again pitched up and straight and Matthews eased it down the ground with a crisp straight drive for the third boundary in the over. FOUR! Length outside off and Dottin slaps it past mid on for another one. FOUR! Smashed straight back over the bowler's head and that is five boundaries from the over. Fifty up for West Indies in five overs.
WI 29/0 in 4 overs: FOUR! Shaping away, full and outside off and Matthews drives it square for four runs. A quick single after Matthews taps it on off and Dottin, who is struggling with her back, just about makes her ground. Short of a full length on middle and off and Dottin lofts it over extra cover. Yastika puts in a brave dive to keep the ball from touching the rope. A couple of runs.
WI 22/0 in 3 overs: On a length by Goswami, but angling down leg again and Matthew whips it to square leg for one. Vicious! Goswami brings it into Dottin from a length takes the wind out of her for a while. FOUR! What a reply! Stands and delivers. Picks it up from a length and deposits it over mid wicket. FOUR! This is fuller outside off and Dottin flays it over covers and to the rope. Keeper has come up to the stumps now. Dot to end the over.
WI 13/0 in 2 overs: Meghna Singh will share the new ball. Two slips in place for Dottin. Jagged away sharply and beats Dottin's wild swipe outside off. FOUR! Width outside off and Dottin pounces on it with a slash through point and cover. FOUR! Dottin is lured into the drive and a thick edge takes it past the slips and to the third man boundary.
WI 5/0 in 1 over: Jhulan Goswami with the new ball. Dottin and Matthews will begin the chase. The first one is drifting down leg and Dottin tucked it down leg side for a couple. Down leg again and flicked to fine leg for one. Dottin seems to be struggling between the wickets and it looks like she is carrying a niggle. Driven through cover for a couple by Matthews.
If West Indies chases this total down, it will be the highest run-chase ever in the history of the Women's World Cup.

Smriti Mandhana: The positivity with which Yastika started gave me a lot of confidence. We lost 3 wickets so I had to hold back. Very uncharacteristic innings for me as I generally go on a 90-100 strike rate. So I'm happy with the way Harry and I played. The discussion in the team meeting was to score, keep the momentum high, and Yastika did that brilliantly and gave us a 20-30 run cushion after we lost 3 wickets to settle in. I don't remember by other hundreds, my memory is really bad but given the situation we were in, this in the top-2 or top-3.
In her mid-innings talk on her century, Smriti Mandhana has spoken more about Yastika's start and Harmanpreet's century. This 300+ score will give the Indian side a lot of confidence,
IND 317/8 in 50 overs: Dottin is back for the last over. India will want to take this score past 320 but Goswami holes out to Anisa Mohammed at short third man. Just two runs from that final over. Good comeback by Deandra Dottin to close out the Indian innings. The difference this time is the hard work had already been done. Delightful from the Women in Blue. IND 296/5 in 47 overs: Alleyne is back into the attack and the first order is business is Harmanpreet getting to a well deserved century ! She becomes the first Indian with three hundreds in the Women's World Cup and what a vital knock this is for her and the side. The celebration is slightly short lived as Richa Ghosh is then put out of her misery, run out by Campbell and Matthews. Pooja Vastrakar the new batter in - brilliant call. IND 287/4 in 46 overs: Anisa Mohammed comes in over the wicket. Six runs come off the over and more importantly, Harmanpreet Kaur gets to 99. *NERVES*
IND 282/4 in 45 overs: Shakera Selman stops her run up midway feeling a little light-headed. She goes off to get some fluids/glucose presumably. Dottin steps in and ends up bowling a very expensive over which takes Harman into the nineties - courtesy a SIX over the fielder at long on and a FOUR thanks to a misfield at the ropes. Harman meanwhile also looking uncomfortable, with some pain in her wrist. She is attended to.
As are we, Sana IND 268/4 in 44 overs: With Mandhana gone, the scoring rate has fallen a bit especially since it's new batter Richa Ghosh on strike. Just three runs ultimately come off the over.
IND 265/4 in 43 overs: BIG FISH FALLS. After a brisk boundary behind square, Mandhana holes out to Selman at deep midwicket who has to make up for some ground before getting to the ball. SHe even slips a bit but will hold on to that ball for dear life. Mandhana walks off to a standing ovation from whoever is around at the venue. Ghosh comes in to take her place. IND 257/3 in 42 overs: One, two, three boundaries to start this over from Matthews. 12 runs right there for Smriti Mandhana, but she's dropped again at cover, but this was a lot harder and fielder barely managed to get a good hand on this. 14 runs come off this over.
IND 243/3 in 41 overs: Fingers are tiring out typing out all thee fours and sixes and there's more in this Connell over. After just four singles, Harman opens her arms up for a massive SIX straight down the ground. 10 runs from the over.
IND 233/3 in 40 overs: CENTURY FOR SMRITI MANDHANA as she pulls a short ball from Hayley Matthews behind square for FOUR. The helmet comes off, the messed up hair is flipped back and she has a muted smile. Harman is delighted as she comes to hug her partner. This stand is now worth 150 runs. Eight runs come off the over.
IND 225/3 in 39 overs: Shamilia Connell returns and goes through a relatively quiet over with just the four runs coming off it. Smriti nearing that century as we speak.
IND 221/3 in 38 overs: Hayley Matthews is in now. Smriti courses through the nineties with a boundary near short fine leg. She is dropped off the last ball by Alleyne at midwicket as she tries to slog sweep in that direction. How costly is this going to be for the Windies? (If not already). Seven runs come off the over.
IND 214/3 in 37 overs: Alleyne comes in for a second and is welcomed with a massive SIX over long off. The pair run another six. 24 runs off the last two overs here. India well and truly in control.
IND 202/3 in 36 overs: Odd start to the over as it's a no ball. Why? Because only four fielders were inside the ring. Stafanie Taylor is not pleased. The Indian batters are making Chinelle Henry at near long on do much of the work, running for a few quick runs. A misfield allows Harman FOUR runs wide behind the keeper. 12 runs coming from that over.
Full outside off, comes down the track and drives it inside-out to wide long-off. No ball called as only four fielders were inside the ring
IND 190/3 in 35 overs: Aaliyah Alleyne comes into the attack and gives away just two runs in her first over. She's managed to put the brakes on this run riot at least for her first. Windies need to break this partnership.
IND 188/3 in 34 overs: Stafanie Taylor returns. This pair is now dealing in boundaries. Smriti comes down the ground to thump the first ball of the over through covers. Two singles come off the over besides that as Taylor pulls back the fuller deliveries.
IND 182/3 in 33 overs: SIX! In the slot by Selman and Mandhana launches it over long off for a maximum. It was pure elegance and power from the stylish southpaw. Selman oversteps and that brings up the hundred partnership for India. SIX! Kaur on the charge this time and she hoists this over long off with one knee on the ground on a free hit. That's her fifty in 61 balls.
IND 169/3 in 32 overs: FOUR! Perfectly executed sweep by Kaur and she finds the boundary behind square leg. Taylor was keeping the batters silent with a good length outside off but the moment she went too full Kaur punished her.
IND 162/3 in 31 overs: Selman to continue after the break. Two singles from the over. Selman received the second and final warning for running on the field.
DRINKS BREAK - INDIA 160/3 IN 30 OVERS
IND 160/3 in 30 overs: Skipper Stafanie Taylor has given herself the ball. She comes round the wicket to Kaur. A couple of dots and then a short one to which Kaur comes out and swats for a single. Wide! Too far outside off. Deftly steered to third for a couple more by Mandhana.
IND 155/3 in 29 overs: Mandhana whips off her hips for a couple at fine leg. Wide. This one is going down leg and Selman will need to reload that one. Selman did well to take some pace off in this over but the batters are settled and continued to nudge the singles around.
IND 150/3 in 28 overs: FOUR! Mandhana seems to be finding her groove now. She guides one with open face to the third boundary. Wasn't a bad ball from Matthews - who spun it away from the left-hander. Six from the over and India brings up 150 in 28 overs.
IND 144/3 in 27 overs: FOUR! Full-toss on middle from Dottin and Mandhana flicks it away through mid wicket and she brings up her fifty off 66 balls. Three runs and one four and seven in total from the over.
IND 136/3 in 26 overs: Matthews replaces Anisa. Mandhana cuts off the backfoot and a rare misfield by Dottin at point will allow the batters to collect two. FOUR! Spinning away and going down leg and Kaur pounces on it to sweep it behind for a boundary. FOUR! Sweep again by Kaur and this one shoots up off the top edge and it is just over Anisa at short fine leg.
IND 125/3 in 25 overs: Room outside off and a checked drive through the off by Mandhana for one. It was in the air for a while but too wide of the fielder at point. Three runs from Dottin's over. Mandhana moves to 44 while Kaur is on 26.
IND 122/3 in 24 overs: Anisa draws Mandhana's outside edge and it goes past a diving slip for a single. One more to Kaur next ball. Mandhana leans into a drive on the off but just a single. Paddle sweep by Kaur and she will take a couple at fine leg. She took a big stride forward to take it on the full. Punched off the backfoot for one and seven runs from that over. The strike rotation is gathering steam!
IND 115/3 in 23 overs: Dottin is into the attack. Full outside off and Kaur fends it off with a straight bat. Wide outside off and Kaur caresses this through cover and point for one. Length angling into Mandhana and she is too cramped too pull; dot ball. FOUR! Full on straying on the legs and Mandhana clips it behind square leg. On leg side again and Mandhana swivels and pulls again to fine leg for one.
IND 109/3 in 22 overs: The strike rotation seems to be manifesting. Three singles off the first three balls off Anisa's over. Kaur flicks one but it is straight to mid wicket. Next a front foot push but to mid on. A single to end the over as Kaur nudges it straight past the bowler.
IND 105/3 in 21 overs: Connell lengths allow the batters to take a couple of twos. She pitches it too full and then drags it too short. Five runs from the over.
IND 100/3 in 20 overs: FOUR! Kaur hammers Anisa down the ground for a boundary. Comes down the track and dispatches it. Single off the last ball and hundred up for India in 20 overs.
IND 93/3 in 19 overs: Rotation of strike is going to be key to India's fortunes today. They haven't been doing too well on that front yet. Just the three singles from Connell's over.
IND 90/3 in 18 overs: Kaur cuts off the backfoot and Dottin again at point, dives and doesn't let any runs through her. FOUR! This square cut is more in front and point and she gets it in the gap for a boundary.
IND 85/3 in 17 overs: Kaur pushes through the covers for a couple off Connell's last ball. Four runs from the over.
IND 81/3 in 16 overs: Two singles from the over as Anisa Mohammed ensures the lull continues. Kaur is unable to find the gaps on either side of the ground.
IND 79/3 in 15 overs: Mandhana gets a single after five dot ball as Connell returns to the attack. Just one from the over. The batters have gone into a shell and need to ensure that all the good work done upfront is not undone.
IND 78/3 in 14 overs: Anisa Mohammed into the attack. Mandhana was looking to cut a ball that was too full and got an outside edge but the keeper couldn't hold on to it. Tough chance! Mandhana takes a single. OUT! Deepti top edges it trying to sweep and Matthews takes a blinder at first slip. India in a bit of a wobble now after a fiery start. Harmanpreet Kaur is in now. Change of keepers for West Indies as Kycia Knight takes over the gloves from Campbelle.
IND 77/2 in 13 overs: FOUR! Too full on middle from Selman and Deepti picks it up over the infield and to the mid wicket fence. FOUR! Width and room outside off and Deepti scythes it through cover and mid off for a second boundary in the over. Deepti defends from the crease to end the over.
IND 69/2 in 12 overs: A single to end the over after a brilliant first five balls from Matthews. She varied her bounce, kept it on a good length and generated extra bounce to keep Deepti quiet.
IND 68/2 in 11 overs: Selman has been warned by the umpire for running on the pitch. A couple of singles and a wide ball in the over so far. Mandhana ends the over with a single through cover. That is a no-ball and one more ball to go. Selman had overstepped the crease. FREE-HIT! Deepti lifts it straight to the fielder at long on, who pouches it, and just a single.
IND 62/2 in 10 overs: Matthews to bowl her third over. OUT! Mithali chips a dolly to mid wicket. Soft dismissal and skipper has to go. She wanted to drive on the leg side and over the fielder but was beaten in the air and couldn't get to the pitch of the ball. Deepti Sharma in at No. 4. A couple of twos to end the over.
IND 58/1 in 9 overs: Selman continues. FOUR! Mandhan eases the pressure of three dots with a fine pull shot behind to the fine leg boundary. Selman had erred down leg side and dragged her length too short. Four runs from the over.
IND 54/1 in 8 overs: FOUR! Mithali starts off with a elegant drive through the off side for a boundary. It was flighted by Matthews and Mithali got to the pitch of it with a forward stride and eased it through covers. Five dots to end the over.
IND 50/1 in 7 overs: Selman with the ball. Full and drifted onto the pads and Yastika flicks it for a couple. OUT! Yastika hands a catch back to the bowler. Almost a leading edge back to Selman as the bowler took pace off the ball. Mithali comes in at No.3. She pokes one to third off the backfoot for one. Fifty runs for India in 6.5 overs.
IND 47/0 in 6 overs: Matthews into the attack to take some pace off the ball. Turn for her first ball as she beats Mandhana's outside edge. Flighted and Mandhana edges that to third trying to drive and a couple of runs. She leaves the next one alone outside off. FOUR! Mandhana steps out and lofts it over mid off and to the rope. Two dots to end the over.
IND 41/0 in 5 overs: Very wide outside off, Yastika misses the cut, and called wide ball. FOUR! Flat-batted swat through mid wicket region and another boundary. FOUR! Short and pulled away again by Yastika over square leg for four more. She flicks the next one to fine leg for one. FOUR! Mandhana this time and she collects her first boundary. Too full on off stump and Mandhana won't miss out on that one. She creams it through cover and point. Single to end the over.
IND 26/0 in 4 overs: Three dots again as Mandhana is unable to find the gaps on the off side. She chips the next one over point and collects three. Henry now comes over the wicket to Yastika, after the batter took her down in the last over from the round the wicket angle. Yastika goes aerial and just over and beyond the fielder at mid off for a single.
IND 22/0 in 3 overs: Mandhana starts off with a couple of dot ball, defending back to Connell. Make it three dots. Mandhana drives on the front-foot to mid off and a good dive keeps that to just one. Beaten! This was not full enough to be driven and Yastika is beaten outside off. Cut away next ball but a brilliant save at point makes it another dot.
IND 21/0 in 2 overs: Chinelle Henry from the other end. Round the wicket to Yastika. FOUR! Yastika again and four more. Slightly short and she pulls it to the mid wicket fence. Down leg side wide next ball. FOUR! Another pull shot from Yastika and another boundary. FOUR! Yastika on a roll. This one was short, drifting on leg and she swivels and pulls this over short fine leg. India up and away. Full now and Yastika drives this through covers for a couple.
IND 6/0 in 1 over: Shamilia Connell with the new ball. Over the wicket to Smriti Mandhana. A thickish outside edge and a single to third man first ball. India is off the mark. Length ball defended back by Yastika. FOUR! Yastika slogs and a top edge takes the ball behind and to the boundary. Interesting to see Yastika showing aggression early on. Is this a sign of things to come?
6:26 AM IST: Done with the national anthems and the players have walked out onto the field for live action. Smriti Mandhana and Yastika Bhatia skip out to open the innings. West Indies players take the knee while the Indians stand with her hands over their heart.

Mithali Raj: We will have a bat. It's the same strip we played the other day. It could slow down in the second half and that's why we chose to bat. We are looking forward to put total that we can defend. We need to improve as a batting unit and it's a fresh start today.
