World Cup 2019: India takes on New Zealand in first semifinal
On top of the table with 15 points, the Men in Blue will take on the Black Caps, who finished fourth on the points table in Manchester on Tuesday.

The last day of the league stage on Saturday gave the order of play for the two semifinals of World Cup 2019.
India finished on top with 15 points after its seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka while Australia after its 10-run defeat to South Africa was placed second with 14 points.
Now, in the first semifinal on July 9 at Manchester, India plays New Zealand who finished fourth on the points table with 11 points. In the second semifinal on July 11, Australia and England clash.
The Virat Kohli-led side after nine games in the league stage — won seven games, lost one and one being a wash-out against New Zealand.

fter a washout last month in what would have been the first meeting between India and New Zealand in the World Cup since 2003, the teams get a chance to lock horns once again in the semifinals.
New Zealand hasn't been in good form of late, with three consecutive losses. In its last outing, it lost to England by 119 runs.
But this blip in form had been preceded by a string of victories. At one point, New Zealand was the only undefeated team, alongside India.

It began its campaign with a 10-wicket victory over Sri Lanka. A nervy win over Bangladesh followed, before the team put up a commanding performance against Afghanistan. Then, there were close wins against South Africa and West Indies.
The losses — against Pakistan, Australia and England — meant it just about managed to sneak in to the semis, in the fourth place.
It's been a contrasting scenario for India. A loss against England was a minor blip in an otherwise supreme run.
Overall, in World Cups, New Zealand leads India 4-3.
