Yuvraj Singh walked off despite being not out in his first innings since retirement, playing in a Global T20 Canada match on Thursday.

Toronto Nationals, led by Yuvraj, was put in to bat by Vancouver Knights and got off to a jittery start. The former India batsman walked out to the crease at the fall of Calum Macleod but looked out of touch with the bat.

He faced 27 balls for his 14 before being given out stumped by the square leg umpire. Yuvraj got an edge which the wicketkeeper dropped and deflected the ball on to the stumps, and according to the replays it was not out.

But by then, Yuvraj had walked back to the dug out. However, Rodrigo Thomas and Heinrich Klassen scored 41 each and Kieron Pollard a 13-ball 30 to take the Nationals to 159/5 in 20 overs.

The elegant left-handed batsman announced his retirement in June when the World Cup was on in England and Wales. Yuvraj had asked for permission from the BCCI to participate in the T20 league in Canada, which the board gave with the player having already retired from the game.
