Champions League Group G: Zenit faces Leipzig, Benfica looks to stay afloat

Group G in the Champions League, similar to Group E, is well-poised with two teams on four points and RB Leipzig third with three points.

Zenit striker Artem Dzyuba, who will be key for his side against Leipzig, has nine goals and 10 assists in 16 games appearances in all competitions this season.

Portuguese champion Benfica looks to stay afloat in Group G, which is well-poised with Zenit St. Petersburg and Lyon lying first and second with four points apiece, while RB Leipzig, with one win and one defeat, third.

- RB LEIPZIG VS ZENIT ST. PETERSBURG -

Zenit is one of two Group G teams yet to taste defeat and takes on a Leipzig side that is fifth in Bundesliga and has made a good start to its domestic league and Champions League campaigns. Leipzig did lose its home match against Lyon on matchday two, but it remains one of the formidable opposition in this group, which could be decided by the fixtures between these two teams in the next fortnight.

Patrik Schick and Konate are unlike to play a part in this fixture for Leipzig, while new signing Malcom is among the players injured for the traveling Zenit.

- BENFICA v LYON -

Portuguese defending champion Benfica is doing all right in its domestic league, but its Champions League campaign has been off to a difficult start. It has yet to register a point and the matchday-three fixture at home against Lyon is almost a must-win for its chances of qualifying from Group G.

For Lyon, it has been the exact opposite: lying 17th in Ligue 1, Lyon is only a point ahead of the relegation zone, but in the Champions League, it is in a good position heading into matchday three.

Leo Dubois and Memphis Depay are injury doubts for Wednesday's fixture.
