The first half between Germany and South Korea ended goalless in Kazan Arena

Except for couple of forays into the box, Korea and Germany were unable to break the deadlock in Kazan Arena in the final Group F match. South Korea was the first team to go close in the 19th minute when Manuel Neuer made a rare fumble by spilling Woo-young Jung's free kick, but punched it away just before Heung-min Son could reach the loose ball.

Son went close in the 25th minute from close range but shot just wide off Neuer. Germany enjoyed two-thirds of possession, but was unable to create any threatening situations in front of the goal.

At one point of time the defending champion amounted for 2 shots on the goal with 248 passes while Korea was able to register 3 shots by making 47 passes. Germany finally had a good chance when a corner kick delivery was laid to Mats Hummels by Jonas Hector, but the Korean keeper was in place to seize the ball off the defender's feet.
