Bengaluru F.C. has acquired the services of Goan midfielder Lenny Rodrigues, the club announced here on Thursday. The 29-year-old arrives on a season-long loan-deal from ISL side FC Pune City, and becomes the I-League champion's second new signing this week, after Harmanjot Khabra.

Rodrigues, an India international, was a fixture in the Churchill Brothers side from 2008 to 2014, when he won two I-League titles, before turning out for Dempo SC and Mohun Bagan.

"This is a dream for me. I was in talks with Bengaluru when the club was formed in 2013 but things didn’t work out. It’s nice to be able to get that chance again," said Lenny, who trained with the team here on Thursday.

The 6'1" central midfielder added: “I’ve seen how loud the Bengaluru fans are. It will be nice to experience that on the other side this time.”

Bengaluru coach Albert Roca was pleased with the latest addition to his squad. “We’ve been keeping an eye on Lenny and I have even been watching some old footage of his. We think he will fit well into our system," he said.
