AIFF sacks U-17 coach Nicolai Adam

The German coach, who has previously worked with Azerbaijan youth team, was brought in by the AIFF in 2015 to guide the Indian junior team in the 2017 FIFA under-17 World Cup which the nation will be hosting.

Adam was an integral part of the scouting team that unearthed the current crop of youngsters playing for the U-17 team.

All India Football Federation (AIFF) has decided to part ways with national under-17 coach > Nicolai Adam, according to media reports. The surprising decision comes after a dismal showing by the team in the recently concluded Granatkin Memorial Cup in Moscow, where it finished last.

Reports say, the German was told to to step down by AIFF president, Praful Patel, on Tuesday evening after the inauguration of the AIFF Indian Women's League.
