Chennai City FC boys sweat it out at the Nehru Stadium in Coimbatore on January 26, 2018.

It has not been a happy outing for Chennai City FC at its home turf here. The side has lost two games and drawn one but the team wants to turn the tide in its favour when it takes on a young Indian Arrows side in the Hero I-League clash at the Nehru Stadium here on Saturday. CCFC’s head coach V. Soundararajan even sounded a warning to his players to shape up or ship out. “Our players were quite lethargic and obviously that reflected on the scorecard the last time we met Indian Arrows. But this time I have told them to go out there and do some serious business and prove to the rest that we are the best.” He said the team has settled down nicely. “We have sorted out all problems. Our players have also got sufficient rest and I expect them to win by a comfortable margin.”

Brazilian Murilo de Almeida will, however, be out of action for the rest of the season. But it does not matter for the team as goalkeeper Uros Poljanec, who missed the last match against Gokulam FC, is back in the fray. The head coach of the visiting side Luis Norton de Matos was pleased with the way his young guns have played so far. “It’s a young team with no big experience but I have given them the freedom to express themselves on the field and that has made some difference.” He was not too keen on the result. “Winning or losing does not matter. I want them to learn because I more bothered about their future. But tomorrow is going to be another big challenge for them.”
