FC Goa retains 'keeper Kattimani

The 'keeper will be the sixth domestic player in Zico's squad.

Goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani is set to join FC Goa and will be the sixth domestic player in the franchise for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League.

Earlier, Debabrata Roy, Keenan Almeida and Prathesh Shirodkar had signed for the Goan franchise, followed by Robin Singh and Denzil Franco.

“Kattimani is a good addition to FC Goa. He was brilliant in the last edition of the ISL and won Zico’s trust. He has accepted FC Goa’s offer and is likely to sign formal contract in the coming days,” said an official source.

Mandar Rao and Romeo Fernandes too are likely to join the Goan franchise as it is waiting for a go-ahead from the new management.

Among the foreign players, Spanish midfielder Jofre Mateu Gonsales has signed, but the franchise lost its influential midfielder Jonathan Lucas who has moved out to FC Pune City.
