Shilton to land in India tomorrow

Peter Shilton will arrive in India on Thursday. The former England goalkeeper will be the chief guest for the final of the UN@70 Cup inter-school football tournament at Kozhikode, Kerala, to be held on Friday.

Shilton has played more matches for England than anybody else – 125. He kept the goal for England in three World Cups – in 1982, 1986 and 1990. He also played in the European championships of 1980 and 1988.

Shilton was also the closest witness to two of the most talked-bout goals in World Cup history – scored by Diego Maradona in the Argentina-England quarterfinal match in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.
