Training with India squad rigorous, says Aizawl FC duo

Ahead of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier match against Kyrgz Republic, India’s new faces reflect on the intense training routine at the national camp.

The two new comers in the Indian football camp - Lalruatthara and Laldanmawia Ralte, say the national camp is the most intense. Both players stay in Champari, a small district around seven hours from Aizawl. “The training here is much tougher and rigorous. It is so much more organised. It’s hard but we are enjoying it,” Lalruattaha, an U-22 player said.

“We have been made to understand that you need to help each other on the field. If one member fails, then the entire team fails,” Mawia added. “The coach stresses on minute details during play.”

The Stephen Constantine-coached team is preparing for the forthcoming AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against Kyrgyz Republic.

Lalruattaha said, “As players, we have improved a lot in the last few days. When you look back, you understand the sort of fine-tuning we have received in the camp.”

“Moreover, the off field discipline, the dietary regime, the timings are all an eye-opener. I had no idea that the camp deals with all aspects in such detail.”
