Welcome to Sportstar's coverage of this evening's FC Goa vs Jamshedpur FC Indian Super League (ISL 2021-22) clash played at the GMC Athletic Stadium, Bambolim Goa. This was Aneesh Dey bringing you updates from the match.
That's all for today. Thanks for tuning in. We will meet you tomorrow when SC East Bengal takes on ATK Mohun Bagan in the Kolkata Derby at the Tilak Maidan Stadium. Goodnight and take care!!
Hero of the Match, Nerijus Valskis: " I am very happy with the two goals. We were solid in defence and had some good chances in the first half but FCG was good. We scored 3 goals and we wanted to keep a clean sheet but we have won. It's a good win and gives us a lot of confidence."
FC Goa goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh: "Tbh, it hasn't been a good start for the whole team. I want to take some responsibility in this game, I should've done better during the second goal. I put the team under pressure, I have to accept that. We have 18 games ahead and need to focus on them and prepare well for them."
FC Goa head coach Juan Ferrando: "We are not happy, 2 games and 0 pts. We are very upset at this point. The focus now is on the emotions in the dressing room. Every coach wants his best players and the best lineup. We have been unlucky with injures, but we can't use it as an excuse."
Jamshedpur FC head coach Owen Coyle: "We always felt that we are going to go and win the game. Both goalkeepers made some wonderful saves. Dheeraj made two or three wonderful saves. I know little moments changed the game but we were by far the better team tonight so there's no argument about who's going to win the game."

46' Both teams back after a half-time talk talk by their respective coaches. Let's see what the second half unfolds.
WE ARE BACK FOR THE SECOND HALF!!
Owen Coyle will be a frustrated manager at half-time. Apart from a goal being disallowed, he has seen his team fail to capitalise on goalscoring chances, which keeps the match goalless at the break.
Juan Ferrando on the other hand will be thankful to go in at half-time without conceding a goal and will thank Dheeraj for his excellent keeping between the sticks. FC Goa has managed to create some chances of its own but has also been sloppy and given away possession cheaply at times.
Stay tuned!! Live second half action after a short break!!
HALF-TIME!! (FC GOA 0-0 JAMSHEDPUR FC)
45+2' A great inward run by Ortiz from the left flank. He tried to go past his marker inside the box and get his shot away but great defending as the shot is blocked.
TWO ADDITIONAL MINUTES!!
45' Another bit of sloppy play by FC Goa, this time by Glan Martins. He lost the ball to Doungel, who did well to pass it to Valskis. Valskis took a shot but Dheeraj saves the day for FC Goa yet again. The 2019-20 Golden Boot winner's goal drought continues.
42' SHOT- Ortiz takes a shot on the turn out of nowhere from quite an acute angle. It had too much power as the ball goes out of play. Not too far away.
40' Some sloppy defending at the back allowed JFC to pounce on the ball in a dangerous position. Valskis found Doungel free on the right flank. Doungel's initial shot was saved brilliantly by Dheeraj and the rebound was skied by the former.

24' Another dangerous corner taken by Thatal but Dheeraj reads it well. It was an inswinger but the young keeper judged the flight of the ball and clutched it safely.
21' JFC on the frontfoot right now. Coyle's team has been excellent from the flanks with lot of balls coming in from both sides.
18' Noguera found himself in space and slipped a pass to Murgaonkar on the left flank. The youngster had enough time to put a ball in but his cross was late and weak, which allows JFC to clear.
16' Seriton makes a surging run down the right flank and attempts to drive a cross in but it is intercepted.
15' Komal Thatal is looking dangerous from the left flank every time he makes a run. He has gotten the better of Seriton everytime till now. A bit of support might be good for the full-back.

MATCH PREVIEW: ISL 2021: FC Goa aims to hit back against Jamshedpur FC
Starting with a loss to its arch-rival Mumbai City FC in its season-opener, FC Goa will be keen to pocket its first points when it takes on Jamshedpur FC at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim in the Indian Super League (ISL 2021-22) on Friday.
FC Goa started with a rather young defensive line-up that struggled to deal with Mumbai City’s attacking firepower. Former Gaurs striker Igor Angulo turned tormentor as he struck a brace to lead the defending champion to a win
Looking back at the loss, Goa coach Juan Ferrando said, “Our performance against Mumbai was not good. We’re working on our plan and our style ahead of Friday’s game. It’s necessary to learn (from the loss) but our focus is on the next game.”
The Spaniard added that he wants his side to be more compact and press higher up the pitch. “In transitions when we lose the ball, it’s important for us to be more compact. For example, we lost the ball twice in the second half and our transition wasn’t good. In the case of the first goal, we lost the ball due to the foul and there we lacked transition too. It’s very important to control space when in attack and in the overlap because recovery of the ball is crucial and we need to press as the opponent has a lot of space, as such it’s difficult for us to defend this action.”
Jamshedpur FC is also looking for its first win of the season after playing out a 1-1 with SC East Bengal. Owen Coyle’s side was denied a spot in the semifinal last year after losing to FC Goa and has only beaten the Gaurs twice in eight games.
Coyle is wary of the challenge. “They (FC Goa) are going to be hurting from losing the first game. They’re going to be like a wounded animal who is dangerous. We know if we are our best as a team we can win and that's our focus. We have to be very respectful of FC Goa. They are a fantastic club, with a great philosophy, great players and outstanding young coach Juan Ferrando,” he said.
The Scottish manager added that his side needed to be more clinical in finishing chances upfront.
