Bengaluru FC has signed Spanish winger Eduardo 'Edu' Garcia Martin to complete its roster for the upcoming Indian Super League season (ISL), the club announced here on Saturday.

Edu, who arrives on a one-year deal, becomes the club's fifth Spanish player and eighth and final overseas acquisition.

The 27-year-old joins BFC from Spanish second-division side Real Zaragoza, for whom he made 27 appearances in the 2016-17 season. “Edu is an exciting young winger,” said BFC head coach Albert Roca. "His versatility down the flank will provide us with great options in terms of personnel as well as our game plan. He will be a great addition to our squad and fits in well with our philosophy.”

Edu said, “I'm very excited to join the club. From the beginning, I liked the idea of playing for Bengaluru’s team in the ISL. Football in India is growing a lot and it's an important challenge for me. I hope I can help the club to reach its objectives for the season.”
