ISL: Delhi Dynamos retains Edathodika, Ghosh

Delhi Dynamos FC has retained its star defender Anas Edathodika and dynamic goalkeeper Sanjiban Ghosh for the third edition of the Indian Super League football tournament.

Edathodika was dubbed as the ‘Great Wall of Delhi’ during the last season for his heroics as he kept the Dynamos defence steady. He was also picked as an Indian senior team probable for the SAFF Cup 2015.

He evolved as a defender playing alongside legends such as John Arne Riise in the last season, and received constant guidance from teammate Florent Malouda.

During his 14 appearances for Dynamos last season, Edathodika made 46 tackles, 24 interceptions and 164 clearances. His passing accuracy was recorded at 88.44 per cent and scored a goal against Pune City FC at home.

“I am glad to be back in Delhi and like to thank the club for giving me the opportunity to showcase my skills again this season in front of our wonderful fans. I am hoping this season we will be able to thank the fans for their support by lifting the ISL Season 3 Trophy,” said Edathodika.

He made three appearances for the Dynamos last season, and managed to hold one clean sheet and made 14 saves.

“I am happy to be back with Delhi Dynamos. I hope to play a lot more games this season and keep as many clean sheets as possible. I am fit and ready for season 3 of the Indian Super League,” Ghosh said.
