Barcelona forward Luis Suarez insisted that form meant little when it came to the El Clasico, as his team prepares to host Real Madrid.

Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui is under enormous pressure with his side seventh in LaLiga and four points behind Barca.

But Suarez, who has four goals and four assists in nine league games this season, said that the teams' form often mattered little.

"You have to take into account the latest results of the team, but Clasicos are Clasicos," he told Barcelona's website .

"I don't think anyone will be thinking about the the other's emotional state or that the other side hasn't been playing well and other is doing better. It's El Clasico."

Suarez described the unique intensity of a Clasico, saying the clash between the rivals was simply different. "You aren't as relaxed as you are in other games, the adrenaline rush is different, so is the intensity. But, you have to try to do what you always do so that the team wins," he said.
