Match Summary: Marseille will be disappointed to lose the match. The French club dominated the possession throughout the game. In the second half, Sanchez and Kolasinac missed two good chances. And then just before the final whistle, Hojbjerg lifts Tottenham to the Last 16 of the UEFA Champions League. Tottenham tops Group D with 11 points in six matches.
In the first half, Marseille takes the lead in the match with an injury-time goal from Mbemba. In the second half, Clement Lenglet levels the scoreline for Tottenham. The game was heading to a draw. But Hojbjerg’s last-gasp goal -which came off a pass from Harry Kane- sees Tottenham through to the next round and Marseille out of the competition.

Four minutes have been added to the second half. Hojbjerg is fouled. He is in discomfort. Play does not stop. Tavares initiates an attack for Marseille. But his shot goes over the bar.
Meanwhile, Frankfurt beats Sporting 2-1 in another Group D away game.
Miss! Kolasinac misses a sure goal for Marseille. He picks up a cross at the back post. But he heads it down and wide. Goal kick for Tottenham.

Chance for Tottenham! Hojbjerg receives a pass from Lucas and he hits the crossbar. No one is there to pick up the rebound. Marseille goes on the counterattack.
Sanchez is on the attack for Marseille. Going behind the ball, he takes a diagonal left-footed shot just after crossing the half away mark. But Lloris anticipates it well and collects it safely. Marseille 1-1 Tottenham. Under and Kolasinac come onto the pitch for Marseille. Gigot goes off the pitch.
Corner for Marseille. But nothing has changed. Lloris comes rushing to collect the ball. Meanwhile, Hary Kane goes down. Mbemba hits on his face while going for a header.
There is an yellow card for someone. Bot not a player. The referee shows the card to an official sitting in the dugout.
Kane’s celebration is cut short. He sends the ball back into the net near the bottom corner. Nice finish. But no, linesman flags it offside.

Tottenham levels the scoreline. It is Clement Lenglet. He heads it home much to the happiness of Conte and his players. Hary Kane has been fouled on the left flank near the half line. Lucas Moura delivers a sublime ball in the box. Lenglet throws his body in the air and heads the ball to Lopez’s left. The Marseille goalkeeper has had no chance. Marseille 1-1 Tottenham
Tottenham is on the attack! Bentancur rushes with the ball and plays a cross, but no damage. Marseille goalkeeper Lopez punches it away. Kane takes a shot in the rebound. No result. Marseille 1-0 Tottenham
Second half begins
HALF-TIME
Marseille takes the crucial lead through Mbemba’s header. The Orange Velodrome crowd has erupted into joy. If Tottenham fails to score in the second half, it will have to head to Europa League.
Tottenham is on the attack! Kane is with the effort, and his shot is cleared by Marseille. It is a corner. Hojbjerg takes the kick and it is wide and out. The ball goes out of play. Goal kick.
It is a corner for Marseille. Lloris punches it away, but Mbemba finds himself unmarked at the edge of the box and his powerful header beats Lloris. Marseille takes the lead. Marseille 1-0 Tottenham.
Seven minutes have been added to the first half.
Corner kick for Marseillie! Lenget clears an attack from Marseille. Bailly delivers the corner kick. It is a decent ball in the box. Pressure is on Lloris. Marseille player Gigot heads and it goes over the crossbar.
Rongier clears a danger, but Tottenham earns a corner. Persic delivers it, but no chance for Tottenham as Marseillie goalkeeper Lopez comes in line and punches it away.
Save by Lloris! So far the best chance in the match. A left-footed stunner by Veretout, who is unmarked, from the left of the box. Lloris throws his body in his left and punches the ball away. And a poor clearance from Sessegnon.
A lengthy stoppage. Bissouma replaces Son. The first half of the match so far has not seen any decisive attack from either side.
Foul! Son goes down while going for a header with a Marseille player Mbema in the middle of the pitch. He is lying on the ground. Conte is not happy. Son is in discomfort and needs medical attention. Sanchez is taking stock of his situation. Son is walking off the pitch with a medico assisting him to go off the pitch. Not a good sight for Tottenham. Both Marseille and Tottenham have made one change each in the match due to injury.
Marseille is on the attack! It is Clauss from the right corner of the box. He takes a diagonal shot. But it misses the target and goes wide off Lloris. Sanchez could have rushed to the ball, but he let it go.
Corner kick for Marseille! First corner kick of the first. Tavares’ shot deflects off Tottenham defender’s leg. Marseille with the corner. No damage. Tottenham clears the danger.
Eric Dier goes on the attack for Tottenham down the right flank and attempts a shot. But it lacks power. Lopez the ball and throws it back into the play.
Tavares rushes down the left wing, and Sessegnon brings him down. He luckily avoids a booking. Hojbjerg clears the ball with a header near the post.

Eric Bailly comes onto the pitch to replace centre-back Samuel Gigot, who is in discomfort. Gigot limps off the pitch.

At home, the Spurs lost to Newcastle 2-1 at Hotspur Stadium. In its last game, Tottenham won 3-2 against Bournemouth. Marseille, in the meantime, is winless in its last four games across contests, failing to score in two. The Ligue 1 side also lost its last two games at home, scoring only a single time.

In a rare occurrence for a group, all four teams enter the final round of games with a chance to advance. First-placed Tottenham was denied a stoppage-time goal by VAR last week that would have secured a win over Sporting and a place in the knockout stage.
Now, the English team is vulnerable heading to Marseille, which is in last place — two points behind Tottenham — but will go through with a victory at Stade Velodrome. Sporting hosts Eintracht Frankfurt and will advance by avoiding defeat.
Frankfurt is level on points with Sporting but behind courtesy of its home loss to the Portuguese team in their first meeting. Frankfurt will advance with a win and can still top the group.
