Manipur Police's Bala Devi scored 26 goals in seven matches in the Indian Women's League.

Ngangom Bala Devi, who was reportedly among the seven Manipuri footballers boycotting the national team over differences with coach Maymol Rocky and assistant Choaba Devi, has been called up for the national team preparatory camp on Tuesday.

Bala Devi was the star of the recently concluded Indian Women's League where she top-scored with 26 goals in seven matches.

The camp at Jahwaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi is in preparation for national team’s participation for the forthcoming COTIF Tournament in Spain, and also the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2022 Qualifiers.

In its last campaign, the national team dished out a competitive display in the Olympics 2020 Qualifiers second round only to bow out on goal difference to host Myanmar. India registered two back-to-back wins against Indonesia and Nepal, before stealing a 3-3 stalemate against Myanmar.
