Known as El Tigre (The Tiger), Falcao has already marked June 19 — Colombia’s opener against Japan at the mega event — on his diary. “I’ve often pictured myself scoring at the World Cup. I couldn’t tell you how many times but it’s a lot,” the report added.

After participating for three years — 1990, 1994, 1998 — Colombia didn’t play until 2014. “Whenever Colombia failed to qualify, I’d support Argentina and Brazil. They were the teams I followed. It was the Argentina of Gabriel Batistuta, and (Ariel) Burrito Ortega. There was also the Brazil team of 98, with Ronaldo. By then I was starting to notice players and Ronaldo was the one I followed closest,” revealed Falcao.
