Women’s Pro Golf C’ship: Gursimar takes lead

The 25-year-old is one shot clear of second-placed Tanirika Singh.

Tanirika, an amateur, carded the day’s only sub-par round with a two-under 70 on the second day.

Gursimar Badwal bounced back from a modest first round to hit the front with an even-par 72 on the second day of the Hero-KGA Women’s Pro Golf Championship here on Thursday.

Gursimar began with eight pars, before finding three bogeys in a span of five holes on the KGA course. The 25-year-old Kapurthala golfer bounced back with three birdies to finish well. Gursimar (four-over 148) is one shot clear of second-placed Tanirika Singh. Tanirika, an amateur, carded the day’s only sub-par round with a two-under 70. This included an impressive seven birdies.

Fellow amateurs Gurbani Singh (six-over 150) and Pranavi Urs (eight-over 152) are placed third and fourth respectively. Overnight leader Neha Tripathi slid to tied-fifth after a poor seven-over 79.
