Kabaddi WC: Lee does the super raid trick for Korea

Korea, trailing right through the match, turned the tide in the last few minutes to register a 35-32 victory over Bangladesh at the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup on Thursday.

Jang Khun Lee delivered a spectacular performance late in the second half to steer Korea to a remarkable win against Bangladesh and virtually seal a semifinal spot in the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup at 'The Arena by TransSatdia' here on Thursday. The star raider logged 15 points (12 raid and 3 tackle) as Korea, with a deficit score right through the match, turned the tide in the last few minutes to eventually win the humdinger of a match at 35-32.

Korea equalled the score at 30 two minutes from time before scraping home by three points. With three wins in as many games, Korea leads the table with 15 points. Lee’s super raid that covered a gap of four points did the trick in the end for the Southeast Asian team.

In the opening match, the tall and sturdy Thailand skipper Khomsan Thongkham and Khunakon Chanjaroen put up devastating raids to outplay Kenya and record the team's second win that helped it move to the third position behind Iran and Japan in Group B.

Thailand has ten points from three matches whereas Japan has ten from two outings. Every Thai player made a contribution to the high winning score of 53-21. After an electrifying display against Poland in its opening match, Kenya has now lost two matches in a row without putting up a semblance of fight. Skipper David Mosambayi, out of action for 24 minutes, returned a low score of two points.
