The NSF250R is used by the Honda teams in Moto3, a bike whose riders have won four world championships in the last five years.

Young Indian riders will now have the opportunity to train on Moto3-grade bikes with Honda Racing India as the motorsports division of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) announced on Tuesday that it is bringing the NSF250R to Indian tracks this year.

The bike will be used exclusively by eight riders in the newly established India Talent Cup.

The aim is to establish a platform where youngsters are better prepared by using bikes that were designed to meet international standards.

The NSF250R is used by the Honda teams in Moto3, a bike whose riders have won four world championships in the last five years.

“In 2018, we became the first solo Indian team at international level — the Asian Road Racing Championship. In 2019, we are taking the next step and bringing the best of world’s motorsport to India,” said Minoru Kato, president and chief executive officer of HMSI, said.

“Indian riders will now ride the same bikes as Moto3 world champions. The idea is to create an iconic rider from India and fast-track the development to the world level.” he added.

Additionally, Honda will participate in the Pro Stock 200-300cc class of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship, with six riders making the Idemitsu Honda Ten10 Racing team.
