Kolkata International: Saurav Ghosal cruises into semifinals
The World No. 11 defeats El Hammamy 11-5, 11-7, 11-2.

Saurav Ghosal, the top seed and the highest-ranked Indian squash player in the world tour, continued to prove too good for his challengers as he blanked fifth seeded Karim El Hammamy 3-0 to move into the semifinals of the Kolkata International USD 30,000 PSA event here on Friday.
Looking to break into the top-10 PSA world tour rankings, Ghosal, the World No. 11, defeated El Hammamy (World No. 51) 11-5, 11-7, 11-2 in the quarterfinals to storm into the last-four stage. Ghosal, who had blanked Mohammad Syafiq Kamal of Malaysia in the pre-quarterfinals, will meet fourth seeded Todd Harrity of the U.S. in the clash for the final spot.
In a major upset, unseeded Carlos Cornes Ribadas of Spain continued his giant-killing run, downing third seeded Youssef Soliman of Egypt in another quarterfinal match. Ribadas had seen the end of eighth seeded Ramit Tandon of India in the previous round.
