Malhotra exits Oregon Open with quarterfinal defeat

Vikram Malhotra lost to top seeded Raphael Kandra of Germany in the quarterfinals to bow out of the Oregon Open.

India's emerging overseas player Vikram Malhotra made it to the quarterfinal before bowing out of the Oregon Open, a Professional Squash Association (PSA) world tour event being held here.

India’s Vikram Malhotra exited the Oregon Open after making it to the quarterfinals, in which stage he lost to top seeded Raphael Kandra of Germany 11-6, 7-11, 11-5, 11-9. Malhotra, seeded eight, had earlier got past wild card entrant Adrian Ostbyte of Norway 11-5, 11-4, 11-2 in the first round of the draw of 16.

Another Indian, Kush Kumar, who too now is based in the U.S.A. could not cross the qualification phase.
