Danielle Hazell featured in England’s 36-run win against Bangladesh in its opening match of the tournament.

England will miss its off-spinner Danielle Hazell for the rest of the World Twenty20 as she strained her left calf muscle during the team’s training session in Dharamsala on Monday.

Hazell will be replaced by Kent’s Laura Marsh. England women’s head coach, Mark Robinson, said: “This is obviously very disappointing news for Danielle.

“She was an important component of the bowling attack, especially given her excellent current form and the conditions here in India, but we are fortunate to have such a talented and experienced replacement in Laura Marsh,” she added.

Marsh will join the squad in Chennai, in time for England’s fourth and final group match against Pakistan at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium on 27th March.
