Yuvraj Singh's injury has ruled him out of the World T20.

The suspense over Yuvraj Singh’s availability for the remainder of the World Twenty20 ended today as the southpaw was ruled out of the World T20.

While the rest of the Indian squad took it easy on Tuesday, Ajinkya Rahane, the reserve batsman in India’s squad, and Manish Pandey, who has been flown in as cover for Yuvraj, had a prolonged stint at the Braboune Stadium under the watchful eyes of batting coach Sanjay Bangar.

While the two young batsmen were slogging it out, team physiotherapist Patrick Farhart was in consultation with medical experts about Yuvraj’s scan results. The left-handed batsman, who twisted his ankle while batting against Australia on Sunday, has neither suffered a fracture nor is it a ligament injury. Yuvraj was assessed during India’s training on Wednesday, a day ahead of the semifinal against the West Indies.
