Table Tennis Federation of India has appointed, in principle, Dejan Papic of Canada as the coach of Indian men’s and women’s teams.

Papic’s contract runs till the end of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He has coached Qatar and the Canada National teams and has a rich experience of over three decades. It is reliably learnt that Papic’s name was recommended by Glenn Tepper, former Deputy CEO of ITTF and Massimo Costantini, India’s previous coach.

“We are happy to appoint Papic as the coach, and are very confident that he will deliver good results,” M.P. Singh, Secretary of TTFI, told Sportstar on Monday.

Manjit Dua, the National coach, described Papic as a “complete coach in all respects.” The former National champion said Papic will be with the team for the World championship in Budapest from April 21 to 28.
