• Karolina Pliskova defeats Camila Giorgi 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 and sets up a last 16 clash against Garbine Muguruza.
   
• Alexei Popyrin survives a straight-sets defeats against Lucas Pouille and clinches the third set 7-6, winning the tiebreaker 12-10.

• Japan's Naomi Osaka survived a massive scare to reach the fourth round after a hard-fought win over Taiwanese veteran Hsieh Su-wei.
