Rohan Bopanna ended his US Open campaign after losing his mixed doubles tie.

India’s Rohan Bopanna and his partner Gabriela Dabrowski fought hard before crashing out in the mixed doubles quarterfinals at the US Open, here today.

Bopanna and Dabrowski won the opening set against Canadian Robert Farah and Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany before bowing out 6-1 2-6 8-10 in the super tie-breaker in a gruelling contest that lasted 58 minutes at Flushing Meadows.

Seventh seeds Sania Mirza and Barbora Strycova came out with a comprehensive 6-4, 7-5 victory to defeat American-Japanese pair of Nicole Gibbs and Nao Hibino and enter the women's doubles quarter-finals.

With Bopanna and Leander Paes out, Sania is the only Indian in New York.
