Bavarian International Tennis: Divij Sharan, Demoliner go down in doubles final

The pair of Divij Sharan and Marcelo Demoliner went down in straight sets to Frederik Neilsen and Tim Puetz.

Divij Sharan in partnership with Marcelo Demoliner of Brazil was beaten 6-4, 6-2 by Frederik Neilsen and Tim Puetz in the doubles final of the € 586,140 Bavarian International Tennis Championships in Germany on Sunday.

The title was worth 250 ATP points and € 29,650 The Indo-Brazilian pair had to be content with 150 points and €15,200.

In the Challenger in Mexico, second seeds Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Purav Raja were lost a close doubles semifinals to the Aussie third seeds, Matt Reid and John-Patrick Smith 10-8 in the super tie-break.

In the Challenger in Savannah, Davis Cupper Sumit Nagal’s fine run was curtailed in the semifinals by second seed Paolo Lorenzi as the Italian prevailed 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. Sumit won 29 ATP points and $2,510.

In the ITF women’s event in Turkey, sixth seed Jennifer Luikham was outplayed 6-1, 6-0 in the final by Indy De Vroome of the Netherlands. Jennifer had earlier made the doubles final as well, with Ramu Ueda of Japan.
