ATP Challenger: Ramkumar Ramanathan bows out in semifinals

Ramkumar suffers a 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 defeat by Alexandre Muller of Germany.

India’s Ramkumar Ramanathan, the fifth seed, was beaten 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 by Alexandre Muller of Germany in the semifinals of the EUR 46,600 Challenger in Glasgow on Saturday.

Ramkumar, who had earlier defeated Daniel Masur, collected 29 ATP point and EUR 2,160.

In the ITF men’s Futures in Nanchang, China, Anirudh Chandrasekar in partnership with Luca Castelnuovo of Switzerland lived up to the No. 1 seeding and won the title, beating The chinee Ruixuan Wang and Bingyu Yu 10-8 in the super tie-break. It was the second doubles title in the professional circuit for Anirudh, who had won his earlier title with Niki Poonacha, earlier this season.

In Antalya, Turkey, Adil Kalyanpur in partnership with Kelsey Stevenson of Canada was beaten 10-8 in the super tie-break of the doubles final by the Polish pair of Jan Zielinski and Kacper Zuk.
