Wimbledon 2024, July 7 Highlights: While Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner made it to the quarterfinals, Coco Gauff and Emma Raducanu were knocked out on Sunday.

Defending champion and third seed Carlos Alcaraz beat Ugo Humbert 6-3, 6-4, 1-6 and 7-5 in the round of 16 of men’s singles of Wimbledon 2024 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC), London on Sunday.

World No. 1 and top seed Jannik Sinner beat 14th-seeded American Ben Shelton 6-2, 6-4, 7-6 in his fourth-round fixture.

In women’s singles, second seed Coco Gauff lost 6-4, 6-3 to 19th seed and fellow American Emma Navarro while local wildcard Emma Raducanu was stunned 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 by Kiwi qualifier Lulu Sun.

French Open runner-up Jasmine Paolini reached the quarterfinal for the first time after a totally distraught Madison Keys was forced to call it quits at 5-5 in the third set with a suspected groin injury.
