WTA Chinese Taipei: Ankita and Karman into doubles semis

Leander Paes progressed to the doubles semifinals in the Challenger in America, while Bhuvana Kalva made it to the quarterfinals of the ITF women’s event in Tunisia.

Ankita Raina and Karman Kaur Thandi combined well to make the doubles semifinals of the $125,000 WTA tennis tournament in Chinese Taipei on Friday.

Ankita and Karman won 10-8 in the super tie-break against the local pair of Ya-Hsuan Lee and En-Shuo Liang.

In the semifinals, Ankita and Karman will play the third seeds Misaki Doi and Danka Kovinic.

Leander Paes, partnering Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela, continued with his good run and made the doubles semifinals with a 10-8 victory in the super tie-break against Luke Bambridge and Tennys Sandgren.

In the ITF women’s event in Tunisia, Bhuvana Kalva knocked out the fourth seed Mia Nicole Eklund of Finland 6-2, 5-7, 7-6(3) to make the quarterfinals.
