7:40pm: (ATHLETICS): Muhammed Anas Yahiya finishes first in the 400m semifinals (45.30s). Expect a medal from him as he competes in the final tomorrow. Arokia Rajiv also booked a place in the finals.
7:30pm: (ATHLETICS) GOLD FOR INDIA! Tajinderpal Singh Toor wins India's first athletics gold medal in record fashion by achieving a throw of 20.75m in the men's shot put event.
7:18pm: (ATHLETICS): Tanjinder throws 19.96m on his fourth throw, matching his first. If all goes well in the next two rounds, he could bring home the gold.

6:07pm: (ATHLETICS): Dutee Chand finishes first in the women's 100m heats with a time of 11.38s. She qualifies for the semifinals on Sunday.
5:50pm: (ATHLETICS): Sarita Singh finishes fifth in hammer throw with a best throw of 62.03m.
5:44pm: (ATHLETICS): With a best of 62.03m, Sarita is fourth after five throws. Can she better her score by at least 40 centimetres to be in contention for bronze?
5:28pm: (ATHLETICS): Sreeshankar qualifies for the men's long jump finals with a 7.83m jump in qualification.
5:10pm: (ATHLETICS): Sarita Singh is in action in the women's hammer throw event. She's currently in sixth after her first throw.
5:00pm: (SQUASH): Saurav Ghosal loses too! Au Chun Ming takes the fourth and fifth games and defeats Ghosal 3-2. So that's three bronze medals for India in squash, after Dipika and Joshna's defeats in their semifinals .
4:45pm: (BADMINTON): Sumeeth and Manu lose a thriller and with that the match! It's not been a good day on the doubles front for India in badminton, as a third pair is knocked out. China's Liu Yuchen and Li Junhui win 21-13, 17-21, 25-23.
4:25pm: (BADMINTON): Sumeeth Reddy and Manu Attri have levelled the scores by taking the second game 21-17. Can they continue their momentum to seal a place in the semifinals?
4:15pm: (SQUASH): Saurav Ghosal takes the first game against Au Chun Ming.
4:14pm: (BADMINTON): Attri and Reddy lost the first game 13-21 to the Chinese pair, but they lead the second game 14-11.
4:03pm: (BADMINTON): Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy are in action against China's Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen in a round-of-16 men's doubles match.
3:25pm: (SQUASH): India will have to settle for two bronze medals from the women's singles squash event as Joshna Chinappa also loses her semifinal match to 19-year-old Malaysian Sivasangari Subramaniam (3-1).
3:15pm: (SQUASH): Joshna wins the third game to stay in the race. She trails 1-2 now as they go into the fourth game.

2:10pm: (SQUASH): Things aren't looking good for Joshna Chinappa, who is down by two games in her semifinal match against Malaysia's 19-year-old Sivasangari Subramaniam.
2:52pm: (BADMINTON): Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy are knocked out of the women's doubles quarterfinals with a 11-21, 22-24 loss.
2:44pm: (BADMINTON): Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy are a game down in their women's doubles quarterfinals match against China's Jia Yifan and Chen Qingchen.
2:35pm: (HANDBALL): India finishes at 9th in the women's handball event after defeating Malaysia 54-19. Much wasn't expected from India's handball teams, given their lack of preparation and low-key performances .
2:30pm: (SQUASH): Dipika Pallikal has to settle for bronze at the Asian Games after going down in straight games to Malaysia's Nicol David.
2:14pm: (BADMINTON): Sindhu joins Saina Nehwal in the women's badminton singles quarters with a 21-12 21-15 win over Gregoria Mariska of Indonesia.

1:47pm: (BADMINTON): P. V. Sindhu leads her Indonesian opponent Gregoria Mariska 14-10 in the first game of the women's singles badminton round of 16 match.
1:42pm: (ARCHERY): India loses to South Korea 5-1 in the quarterfinals of the men's recurve team event.

10:17am: (ATHLETICS): C. Balasubramanya has qualified for the finals of men's high jump by clearing 2.15m on his second attempt.
10:12am: (ATHLETICS): Arokia Rajiv comes second in the men's 400m heats and qualifies for the semifinals with a time of 46.82 seconds.
10:00am: (ATHLETICS): C. Balasubramanya cleared 2.10m in his first attempt in the men's high jump qualifying, but has failed to clear 2.15m in his first attempt.

9:42am: (ATHLETICS): Muhammed Anas finishes 1st in men's 400m heats with a time of 45.63 seconds and has qualified for the semifinals.
9:40am: (ARCHERY): The Indian men's recurve team has qualified for the quarterfinals with a 5-3 win over Vietnam.
9:38am: (VOLLEYBALL): The Indian men's team beats Maldives 25-12 25-21 25-17.
9:29am: (VOLLEYBALL): The Indian men's team is two sets to love up against Maldives. It is ahead 13-7 in the third too. The women's team will be in action against Chinese Taipei this evening.
9:22am: (ATHLETICS): A fantastic start for C. Balasubramanya, who clears 2.05m in his first attempt! He is currently first in Group B.
9:08am: (ATHLETICS): The men's high jump qualifying is underway. C. Balasubramanya is the Indian representative in the event.
8:55am: (CANOE/KAYAK): Indian men's and women's teams will compete in the repechage round after finishing 5th and in last place respectively.
8:35am: (ARCHERY): India beats Mongolia 5-3 in the 1/8th round women's recurve team event and is through to the quarterfinals.
8:25am: (ARCHERY): India is leading Mongolia 4-2 in the 1/8th round women's recurve team event.
8:14am: (GOLF): Aadil Bedi, John Thomas and Naveed Kaul are involved in the third round of men's individual event. Bedi is tied-third with five-under-par, Thomas is tied-fifth with four-under-par and Naveed Kaul is tied-eighth with three-under-par.
8:11am: (ATHLETICS): C. Balasubramanya will be seen in action in the men's high jump qualifying at 9:00 AM, while Muhammed Anas will take part in the men's 400m heats about an hour later.
7:55am: (SHOOTING): Anish Bhanwala and Shivam Shukla are in action in the men's 25m air pistol qualifying event. Anish is currently third with a score of 293.
7:50am: (SKEET): Bajwa Angad Vir Singh and Sheikh Sheeraz are involved in the men's skeet qualifying.
Day 6 brought India two gold medals, one each in team rowing and mixed doubles tennis, but equally, the Indian women's kabaddi team and men's badminton failed to live up to expectations. India's medal tally stands at 25 and today, a multitude of events offer India a chance of increasing the medal tally.
