NADA suspends five athletes for doping violation

The athletes returned positive results in in-competition tests conducted between May 4 and June 5.

Orders have been reserved in four cases following the hearing.

Five athletes have been provisionally suspended, while one power-lifter has been handed four years’ ineligibility due to various doping violations, said a National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) statement on Tuesday.

Power-lifter Sandeep Kumar, body-builders Pradeep Verma and Sandeep, and athletes Rohit Yadav and Prashant Malik have been placed under provisional suspension for returning positive results in in-competition tests conducted between May 4 and June 5.

Another power-lifter, Aman Tyagi, was given a four-year suspension by the NADA Disciplinary Panel.

Orders have been reserved in four cases, including that of quarter-miler Priyanka Panwar, following the conclusion of the hearing process.
