Ajay Jayaram storms into US Open semis
Jayaram, who is making a comeback after an injury lay-off, took 30 minutes to beat Heo Kwang Hee of South Korea on Saturday.

India shuttler Ajay Jayaram entered the semifinals of the US Open 300 tournament after beating Heo Kwang Hee of South Korea 21-18 21-12 in the quarterfinals here on Saturday.
Jayaram, who is making a comeback after nursing an injury, took 30 minutes to clinch the one-sided game.
Before entering the last eight of men’s singles, Jayaram faced tough oppositions in Yun Kyu Lee and Ygor Coelho in the opening rounds.
He had to earn for a victory against Lee as the game ended 26-14 17-21 21-13. Even Coelho stretched him — 19-21 21-12 21-16 — before surrendering to his grit and pace.
He will meet Dutch star Mark Caljouw in the semifinals.
