9.50 am: That's it. India's Ashwini Ponnappa and N. Sikki Reddy lose 17-21, 13-21 to South Korea's Ye Na Chang and Kyung Eun Jung.

9.48 am: It doesn't look good at all for Ashwini and Sikki. The pair trails 12-20 now. The South Koreans are just one point away from victory.

9.45 am: Meanwhile, India's Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have gone down to the third seeded pair of Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda of Japan 12-21, 17-21.

9.43 am: The Indians are attempting to crawl back into the game at 7-12 now.

9.40 am: It doesn't look good for the Indian pair now. Ashwini and Sikki trail 3-10 in the second game.

9.35 am: Ashwini and Sikki must now win both their games to progress.

9.35 am: The Indian pair lose the first game 17-21. The South Koreans upped the ante after being deadlocked at 16-all and the Indians had no answers to the fury of Chang and Jung.

9.33 am: Well, it seems India is losing the plot here. The pair of Ashwini and Sikki trail 20-17 in the first game.

9.28 am: There is nothing to separate the pairs in the first game. They are going neck-to-neck at 16-16.

Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy are on the courts. They will play against Ye Na Chang and Kyung Eun Jung of South Korea.

Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy beat Shem Goh and Wee Kiong Tan 2-1 (15-21, 23-21, 21-19).

It was a good start by India on Wednesday morning as the doubles action kicked off.
