This is exactly what Lakers fans imagined when Anthony Davis joined LeBron James in the offseason.
The superstar duo stuffed the stat sheet once again Sunday in a 103-96 win over the Spurs (4-2) as the Lakers (5-1) won its fifth straight. James posted his second straight triple-double — 21 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds — and Davis chipped in 25 points and 11 boards.
Meanwhile, the Rockets' duo of James Harden and Russell Westbrook is still searching for the right chemistry. Heat forward Duncan Robinson scored 23 Sunday to lead six players in double figures as Miami routed Houston, 129-100. The Heat raced out to a 46-14 lead after one quarter and never looked back, thanks to plays like this from Jimmy Butler.
Butler did it all for the Heat, scoring 18, with nine assists, seven rebounds and four steals.
The Heat (5-1) has won three straight and look tough in the early going, unlike the Rockets, who are off to a so-so 3-3 start. Harden scored 29 against Miami, but Westbrook struggled, hitting only 3 of his 11 shots. He had seven turnovers and posted a -46 rating.
Stud of the Night
Mavericks star Luka Doncic scored 29 and added 15 assists and 14 rebounds — his second straight triple-double — to key a 131-111 win over the Cavaliers.
Dud of the Night
Bulls forward Otto Porter Jr. hit 1 of 10 shots in a 108-95 loss to the Bulls.
Highlights
De'Aaron Fox stole the ball and had plenty of time to plan the perfect dunk.
Rudy Gay hit the buzzer beater from long, long range.
What's Next?
The Suns have been a minor surprise, winning its last two despite the suspension of center Deandre Ayton. The 76ers is still perfect, but has had a couple of close calls, against the Hawks and Trail Blazers in the past week.
