Viswanathan Anand drew with Levon Aronian to stay half-point ahead of the field after three rounds of Sinquefield Cup chess tournament here on Monday.

With all the boards ending in draws for the second straight day, Anand’s 42-move deadlock following repetition of moves proved enough to protect his lead.
